This is HALLOWEEN!!

This month has been a very eventful one.  So much to the point where I didn't have any time to blog about each individual thing we did, I have to include it all in one post!  I have always LOVED Halloween; its very close up there with Christmas for me.

To start off my Halloween festivities, I made some cute Halloween crafts at craft night with Craft Carnival.  I always love going to craft night for a little girls night out.  Its fun to hang out with other housewives in my neighborhood. :)

Randy's birthday is on October 8th.  Earlier this year in June I decided I would surprise him and take him on his birthday to Disneyland for his first time.  I had a lot of time to get everything booked and ready.  I got work off for him, and worked out the surprise with his boss.  Randy works the graveyard shift, and I had his boss tell him that he was working a day shift the day we were leaving so he could have a good nights sleep the night before.

His boss text him the morning that we left to let him know that he didn't need to come into work.  Randy hadn't said anything to me for 10 minutes after the text, so I asked him,  "Randy, did your boss text you?"  He got really confused and asked, "Why would my boss text me?"  I said "Just check!"  He started getting a little mad thinking I was hiding something, and asked again "Why would my boss text me?"  He pulled out his phone and read out loud, "Hey I actually dont need you to come in anymore, go ahead and take the rest of the week off and have a good birthday."  He was so worried and confused, and asked "Am I fired?"  I laughed and told him to get in the car.

We picked up my mom and drove to the airport, without him knowing at all what was going on.  He got worried again when he realized we were at the airport because he had nothing packed.  I pulled out our suitcases from the back of the car, and thats when I finally saw a little excitement on his face.  After we got checked in, he told me that he wanted to play along with this as long as possible without knowing anything.  We got him some headphones and he blasted music and looked down going through security and getting on the plane.  He didnt know where we were going the whole plane ride!

When we landed they announced that we landed in Long Beach, and then he finally knew.  I had my cousin pick us up from the airport, and when I saw him I gave him a big hug and asked how he was.  Randy was SO confused!  I explained that he was my cousin and taking us to our destination.  The surprise worked out so much better than I imagined, we both had so much fun with it. :)

Disneyland is fun at this time of year.  They decorate everything with Halloween stuff, and change a lot of the rides!  They changed the Haunted Mansion ride to The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Randy LOVED it because we were planning to dress up as Jack and Sally for Halloween.

Checked this off our Bucket List! :)

I had fun making a couple different cookies during the month.  I found a yummy recipe for carmel filled apple cider cookies on Pinterest that caught my eye and looked pretty easy to make.  They were a HIT!  I made 4 dozen cookies, and they were all gone inside our family and friends stomachs within the first day.  I HIGHLY suggest making these sometime this fall.  I'm going to make another 4 dozen for thanksgiving and take them down to my Grandpas in St. George when we go.  Click HERE for the recipe!

Randy had a work Halloween lunch, and he was in charge of bringing the dessert.  (Of course he always leaves his food assignments up to me.)  I decided to make some really cute and simple witch hat cookies.  I'm sure you can figure out how to make them just by looking at them. ;)

Randy and I have been dressing up together ever since our first halloween together.  We always go all out, and have SO much fun with it!  I'm sure it'll slow down a little once we start having kids.

Our first year we were Mario and Peach. (2009)

Our second year, we decided to be the Mad Hatter and Alice.  Randy's costume was a little tricky because we pieced the whole thing together, but it turned out amazing! (2010)

This year we dressed up as Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas.  I have grown up watching this movie every year, and Randy saw it for the first time last year.  He's IN LOVE with it, as I am. :) (2011)

It was a very fun month of October.  We had a lot of fun together and with our friends and family!

La Fiesta De Aniversario!

Randy and I had an amazing oppourtunity of visiting Mexico for our one year anniversary.  It was UNREAL!  We went on a 7 day cruise with Carnival that stopped at Cabo San Lucas for two days and Puerto Vallarta for one day.  Not only was the time in the cities fun, but the crew and atmosphere of the ship was awesome.

Our first day in Cabo San Lucas, we went on a mini jeep tour with Rhinos (double seater four wheelers.)  Sadly, I forgot my camera that day, and I will forever beat myself up for it.  Randy and I took turns driving it, and we went across the beach, through huge cactus deserts, and up very steep rocky hills.  It was crazy!  A guy that was with us on the excursion overheard that we had forgot our camera and offered to take some pictures for us to email to me.  He took quite a few pictures of us, but I haven't heard from him yet.  If I ever get them, I'll post them back on here!  I'm really hoping he sends them to me!  Here is an online picture I found of our excursion.

Our second day in Cabo San Lucas, we decided to take a more laid back day and go on a horseback ride.  This time I remembered to take my camera!  We rode through cactus deserts and across the beach as well, it was very relaxing.

Now.... Puerto Vallarta.  MY FAVORITE.  I had been told by a number of people to do the ziplining in Puerto Vallarta before we left on our cruise.  When we looked at all the excursion options, that was the one at the top of the list - apparently it's the best thing to do there.  We decided to go all out and to the EXTREME canopy adventure.

We were first taken by boat for about 15 minutes to a beach.  Randy got stung by a bee on his neck right before we got on the boat. :( He was okay and in no pain immediately after though.

From there we got on huge yellow Mercedes army trucks that took us up the mountain.  That was a very bumpy/crazy ride!  We were flying all over the place!

When we got there, they strapped us in our ziplining gear.   Then we hopped on some mules and rode up to the ziplines.

There was a total of about 13 ziplines, 2 repelling spots, and about 5 little obstacles that included bridges and ropes.  We were completely immersed in water because we did it all right by a waterfall.  All in the middle of Puerto Vallarta's beautiful rainforest climate.  It was so surreal.  I now consider this adventure the coolest thing I have ever done in my entire life.  The pictures say enough.

When we were done, they had fresh salsa, chips, quesedillas and beans for us to eat - REALLY good.  It started to rain really hard, and we were already soaking from the waterfall that I didn't even care.  It was warm and refreshing, nothing like I have ever felt in my life.  I kept telling all the locals that I was going to move there, I fell in love with Puerto Vallarta.

Checked this adventure off our Bucket ListRandy and I will never hesitate to go back to Mexico,  we absolutely loved it!!!

HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY WITH ME AND MY SCHWEETIE!!!
WE'RE EXCITED TO SPEND THE REST OF OUR LIVES TOGETHER!

Our Bucket List

Randy and I have been talking a lot about things we want to do before and after we have kids.  I decided to create a bucket list for us, and keep track of everything we've done and everything we want to eventually do.  I think it will be awesome twenty years down the road when we'll be able to show our kids everything we've done together.  You can always find our bucket list by clicking on the Our Bucket List tab at the very top of this blog.  I will be adding to it frequently, so check back!

"Patience is a V... acation!!!"

Most of the time I would consider my impatient-ness a very bad flaw... but there is some good that comes from it! (If you can believe that.)  I get very impatient when I know a good vacation is coming up soon, and because of this - I always plan ahead.

When Randy and I got engaged, the very first thing I planned was our honeymoon; and I did ask Randy here and there what he wanted to do, but I definitely only allowed myself to plan it.  Vacations are GREAT.  I love that I can get away for a little while, escape reality, and be able to experience a whole different world.  There is nothing that I prepare for more than vacations.  When I plan vacations, I usually plan big.  I figure you might as well go all out or its just not worth it! ;) (I still like little simple, spontaneous weekend getaways.)  I love to travel, and I feel like its really important to get away every 3 or so months and take a break from everyday life.  Randy loves to travel as well, so it works out perfectly!

We decided to wait on having kids for a few years so we can travel together and spend as much time as a married couple as possible.  I decided this year is going to be one of our GO ALL OUT years.  I am going to keep posted on my blog of all the fun adventures we have coming up this year!

A new tradition I inherited from marrying into the Jepperson family is Easter Camping!  I went last year, and it was definitely a vacation that wont be soon forgotten.  That tradition holds a special place in my heart because Randy proposed to me there in front of his whole family.  I have been looking forward to this trip for months, and now I'm only a month away!!  To prepare a little for this trip, we purchased some guns.  Randy got an old WW2 Russian gun and I got a pink Red Ryder BB gun.  I am so excited to take it out there!

I know Randy and I will be spending a lot of time in Provo Canyon this summer, and I would definitely consider it a summer long vacation.  We'll be doing a lot of longboarding and tubing down the river.  Now if only this weather would warm up a little more we could get started!!

Randy's best friend Cale and I have our birthdays one day apart - July 12th and July 13th.  Since I'm turning 21, I thought it would only be appropriate to spend it in Vegas!  Cale and I decided we would have a combined birthday there on the weekend of our birthdays - July 15-17.  I'm DEFINITELY excited for that little weekend getaway!

I already booked another cruise for our Anniversary at the end of August, as if our honeymoon cruise just wasn't enough!  We knew we had to do that again.  To prepare for this trip, me and Randy have been religiously working out everyday and trying to eat fairly healthy.  So far we've loved it and feel so great, and we aren't going to give up!  Its hard not to gain a couple-few pounds on a cruise, so we're trying to prepare for that.  This time around we are going to MEXICO!  It's a 7 day cruise, and stops at Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas.  We want to rent ATV's and go snorkeling for excursions.  I cannot even contain myself, I'm so excited!!

Last year, Randy and I went on a VERY fun trip to Lake Powell during his birthday with his work.  We spent the week on a houseboat, played around on jetski's and boats, canoed and fished.  It was a great relaxing week and we knew that we were for sure going to add that to our list of yearly getaways.  I haven't heard anything about it for this year, so hopefully they do it again and we wont hesitate to be there!  That's another one I'm very much looking forward to in the fall, so I'm crossing my fingers it happens again! :)

I'm so excited and IMPATIENT for whats in store for us this year.  And I'm excited to be able to blog about all of our adventures!
